When I moved to Australia I thought the gift of writing would miraculously endow itself in my head. The longer I stared at the blank page the daunting task grew into a monster which I couldn’t slay. I collected experiences Down Under like funko pops, but kept them on a shelf because I lacked a playmate. Then after meeting Ri’chard, another African American living in Melbourne, I finally had the chance to play with my toys. We created the Melanated In Melbourne, a podcast that sheds light on the Black American experience in the Lucky Country.
